Okay, and there's another reason too, because we're supposed to be strong and well-fed and well-hydrated and well-caffeinated.

The point of Yom Kippur fasting is not to deprive ourselves or to suffer, even though there'll be some stomach grumbling and maybe some, you know, certainly some longing for the break fast, but the point is not to suffer and deprive yourself of food.

We're elevated above food, above our physical selves, above our physicality on Yom Kippur, and therefore we're likened to the angels.

We're getting nourishment from the spiritual source directly, from Hashem Himself.

And, you know, I know sometimes you hear comedians, it's like how many different Jewish comedians over the years have I heard say, well, yeah, the rabbi said you're not supposed to think about food on Yom Kippur.
