And I want to start off by talking about the first game of the night yesterday, which was the Atlanta Dream who took on the New York Liberty.
Now, guys, in the building was all the stars, uh, which was kinda cool.
Here's the thing, y'all, Claire Rusai, she's very strategic.
She's very strategic, uh, and she be inviting all the big guests, uh, to, to, to come out and watch a game.
And, um, I gotta tell you, if you, if you, um, are a free agent, you're probably looking at New York and being like, "Ooh, I get to meet all the celebrities." 'Cause, uh, Malala was there, also Queen Latifah was there, which Ryan Howard finally got to meet, which shout out, shout out to Ryan Howard.
She been wanting to meet her for a long time, and I'm happy that she was able to do so.
All right, anyway, so sure, that probably gave them extra motivation to win so that they can meet her at the end of it.
Like, this game was, was one of the big games I had marked down to watch, uh, you know, for these last couple of games, because this was a game of two playoff teams, and these are two teams that really needed to win yesterday.
For Atlanta, they needed to win yesterday, they need to win, uh, their next game against New York, or Indiana needs to lose a game in order for the, uh, the Atlanta Dream to end up getting home court advantage, because you wanna get home court advantage.
The thing to note is it's not like the olden days where you used to have, uh, if you had home court advantage, uh, the, for the first round, you had the first two games at your home, and the third game was on the road.
No, no, no, that is not the case anymore.
It is now a 1-1-1 series, and so that means you play the first game at home, second game on the road, third game, if necessary, at home.
So it, it really is a, a big advantage, um, especially if you have to go to that third game.
So all these teams are battling to be able to have that home game.
Okay? All right.
Now, with all that being said, uh, you know, um, Atlanta just looked like a very, very good playoff team.
Final score was 95 to 84.
Uh, and you know, there was one play that I kept coming back to, uh, and that play features the likes of the great DeWanna Bonner.
Uh, in, in, in that moment, um, it was right before halftime, right before halftime, uh, some- someone misses.
Uh, DeWanna Bonner gets the rebound, uh, gets the put back, gets fouled on that put back, and, uh, is on the ground and is like, "Yeah!" [laughs] Like that was, that was her, like [laughs] at that moment I was like, oh, Atlanta won this game.
Oh, this game is over.
