Alyssa Thomas

And that's essentially what happened in the games that they won.

When you have a league that has the Vegas Aces, who has the best player in the world on that team, when you have a league that has the Minnesota Lynx, that has the best rookie in Olivia Miles, Who received MVP votes along with the Feast of Collier? When you have a league that has a team like the New York Liberty that has arguably the second best player in the league in Breonna Stewart and John Quayle Jones and Sabrina Nadescu, when you have players and teams that hold players like Alyssa Thomas, like Kalaya Copper, like Shakira Alston, like Angel Reese.

It was Gabby Williams and the Golden State Valkyrie that held their championship high.

What people like to do is they like to compare.

And on June 24th, she scored 28 points, making 15... of 16 free throws to beat the Fever 111-109.

That's the same night Alyssa Thomas made contact with Clark.

In 2026, she drew 228 fouls in 40 games, 5.7 per game, and committed 107 fouls.

Phoenix, that's the team of Alyssa Thomas, the player whose contact on Clark started that letter.

The league upgraded it to a flagrant and suspended her for one game.

On that same night, Copper went 15 for 16 at the free throw line.

So I don't know if this is how much of this is just like salacious, like sensationalized, fake news, basically.

But do you want to Bonner like at the when the dream we're all walking back into the locker room after the game? Do you want to Bonner like peels up to the side for some reason? Alyssa Thomas is there.

And doesn't go into the locker room.

And everyone's like, Dewana Bonner's like, did it like bailed on her team again, like quit.

On August 24th, against the Los Angeles Sparks, she pulled down 26 rebounds, passing Shameik Holzclaw's 24 from 2003.

And she broke the WNBA single season double double record with 31 double doubles, passing Alyssa Thomas's 28.

The critics strongest argument is the shot diet and efficiency.

But look at how Angel responded.

I think we kind of thought that Nafisa Collier would just hit the ground running and return to the form she was at.

last year before her leg got blown apart by Alyssa Thomas.

So... um that great player never quite returned to the form that we we had seen her at last year and it just you know the liberty were too much in the playoffs when the game was slowed down and you know yeah the one seed minnesota links went down to the apc

so collier wasn't able to rehab as much as some people had hoped and uh and liberty you know the the previous year's champions are up with returning basically the whole lineup we're used to winning in the playoffs and we're able to beat minnesota and i like following you know as i was i was following sort of one matchup at a time in the playoffs and the next one that i paid attention to was our new york liberty against uh atlanta dream and uh angel reese uh and you know i think a lot of people had seen you know angel reese coming up with caitlyn clark and that rivalry and caitlyn clark at least initially especially when reese was at the sky in chicago uh clark seemed to have the upper hand and having more success so and then you know reese was traded away from chicago Ends up in Atlanta.
