Fecteau addressed Maine’s electricity costs, what is included in ratepayers’ bills and whether federal funding or a bonding mechanism could help pay for necessary grid improvements. He also discussed data centers, artificial intelligence and the safeguards he believes should be established before new facilities are built.
The conversation also covered the millionaires tax and its application to S corporations, PCHC’s request for emergency funding, Maine’s broader healthcare challenges, rural maternity care and the fatal ICE-involved shooting in Biddeford. Fecteau closed by discussing his priorities for the next legislative session and the importance of finding common ground.
