If you’ve ever thought, *“Why am I still dealing with this? I’ve done everything right”* — this episode is for you. As health practitioners, we spend our days helping other people understand and…
Alex BervellGuestKirstyHostNicoleHostSo today we thought we would talk about something that the three of us constantly talk about in clinic, like all three of us.
So we kind of wanted to talk about like the fact that – like your, how do I put into like good, like into words saying this was your top topic idea Nicole?
Okay.
So this was a very last minute topic.
I was driving home this morning from my morning run and I was thinking about a conversation I had with my client yesterday and we're going through her stool testing.
And with this client, we, we speak very like openly and about, you know, all areas of health, but Health anxiety is like a big thing for this client.
And I think as a practitioner, there's like a level of obviously where you don't want to bring your personal things in, but it also is really nice to share a degree of vulnerability because we're all humans and we all have our own health concerns today.
Yeah.
I guess kind of ties into what we really want to talk about is like that perception around health and the expectations around what a health journey should look like.
And also when you think of a health practitioner, you always just assume that they've got all the health worked out because they have a lot of the tools and, you know, your health is perfect.
But Kirsten and I and Alex will talk about that.
Because we always chat about this in the clinic.
We all
get imposter syndrome and none of us even really want to share this on here even though we do share hints because as a practitioner we feel this pressure, right, that we should have like perfect health because obviously we all live and breathe it.
And so all of us come on here obviously today coming from quite a vulnerable place because while we get like amazing changes within our clients, say with like gut issues or like whatever it may be, but like for us, like some of us in this room, All three of us.
I'm still dealing with chronic stuff that we cannot get through.
And this is where this podcast is going to flow to really nicely into like, yeah, other modalities and things like that.

And don't they say like the people, you know, that you get into this industry for a reason and often you are treating everyone else and burning yourself out and then neglecting yourself, which I feel like is very common in so many professions, like whatever it is, they kind of neglect their health.
practitioner space.
And it's funny because all three of us, I would say we have such incredible like groundwork that we, or base, like we all eat so healthy.
We exercise, we, you know, aim to get enough sleep.
I mean, obviously you've been a mum of two, so you've had your years, but I feel like you're like in a bit more, a better place these days.
But like, you know, we do all the basic things yet.
