10 Before the End

go first this week? I'm more than happy to because I am going to tell you about the biggest release of the next three months, and this is purely subjective, but it almost is objective because this author is back.

Barbara Kingsolver, about four years ago, she blessed us with Demon Copperhead, which is, you know, multi-million bestseller or at least a million bestseller, Pulitzer winner, Women's Prize winner, one of the biggest books of this century, arguably, and an absolutely sensational read.

She's Back with Partita, which is a book about a pianist who is living her life.

She's at peace with her marriage.

And then an old flame resurfaces from the past.

I literally cannot tell you how excited I am to read this book.

As we record, it comes out this week.

As you listen to this, I've got a weekend carved out with plans that I've turned down to read this book.

I literally could not be more excited.

Barbara Kingsolver, Demon Copperhead is one of my favorite books full time, like top five for sure.

I think it is an absolutely masterful exploration of what it's like to be human and what it's like to tell a life through language.

It's not only like a very emotive story, but it's a real success of storytelling as well.

And I just couldn't be more excited for the follow-up.

I think this one is a bit slimmer.

I understand Demon Copperhead was like 650, 700 pages.

This is 350 pages.

So much more doable for those who are scared of big books.

But I just can't wait for new Barbara Kingsolver.

This feels like it's been a long time coming.

You love Barbara Kingsolver.

And what number Barbara Kingsolver will this be? Number four

for me.

Ooh, incredible.

I've read Demon Cop Head, which is my favourite, but I've also read and really enjoyed The Lacuna, which I thought was excellent, and Poisonwood Bible, which I don't think I quite got, but I still got a lot out of as well.

So this being number four, I'm ready.
