Clean Sheets - Sheffield Wednesday Reaction

Three changes to the starting line-up from the defeat to Stockport County.

John Mellish, Fraser Murray and Sonny Perkins coming in to replace Connor Barrett, Archie Harris and Dara Costello.

So the team was Whitworth in goal, Carragher Burns, Fox Mellish, Graham Power, Murray, Weir, Walsh, And Sonny Perkins up from...

Again, I've got to mention Sonny Perkins.

I thought he played a really good game coming deep and linking, but he needs to sharpen up in the box for me.

I mean, he's a striker and we need goals.

That's the thing.

But his overall performance, I

thought, was quite good.

Graft, isn't it? And working hard.

And obviously they all did.

But your number nine is there to sit the ball in the back of the net.

And as much as you can credit the Graft, and we've said the same with Costello in the past, Credit the graft, but last season, Joe Taylor was the one bagging the goals.

We need somebody to step up and bag the goals this season.

Yeah, I mean, when you consider delving into the stats a bit, and we had 13 attempts but only two on target, you've got to look at the strikers again.

And I know it's something that we talk about week in, week out, that we need, we've needed.

And you can put in all the work in the world, but if we get a nil-nil or lose every game, we're going to be at the bottom of the league.

So we've got to start getting some goals again.

It's strange this, because this is going to sound counteracting what you're saying and what we've just been saying, but Nathan Ellington on GMI yesterday, and he was saying sometimes the guilt of an opportunity to shoot being there and not taking it.

and trying to sort of walk it in and pass it in, which doesn't gel with 13 attempts and only two on target.

But I could see that sometimes in MK Don's game and a bit in Stockport game.

So, yeah, I can see where he's coming from.

I mean, you put a few in and nobody cares, do they? One of the things that I found

disappointing yesterday was the number of balls that were put into the box without our strikers reacting.

They stood still, they were stationary.
