So wh- when you think back to, to y- young Bill and starting in this trade, right, what, what did you think a good lineman meant then, and then what does it mean to you today?
So, uh, not everybody does it today, but, uh, one, you didn't get a nickname unless they gave it to you.
Um, I was trained by some of the best, uh, Bob Young, Dan Wicks, Steve Norville, uh, Pat, I, um, Tommy.
I mean, I can, I can list 20 guys my first 10 years that took me under their wing and, and was basically my family and, and, and taught me.
But what they did is, is they instilled probably three words, and I, I wear 'em out today.
It, it's train, mentor, and coach, and those are my beliefs today on, um, in my present j- I never knew that was gonna take me to this part.
You know, in the last 10 years I was out of line college, uh, and now, uh, in my present position, we are pushing training, coaching, and mentoring, and the result of that is safety.
And, uh, so, uh, in my present position I'm responsible for safe work practices and a lot of people, you know, they instilled those things.
I think that's what I got out of those at the beginning of my career, and that's what I still believe today.

And, and back then, a lot of the training didn't come from the company back then.

It came from those people you were surrounded by, right? And it sounds like you had legends around you.
