I'm your host, Emma Tiedemann here with pitcher Anthony Ionson and Anthony, you know, you pitched at LSU, but prior to LSU, you were at UC San Diego, uh, before eventually being drafted by the Red Sox in 2025 in the third round.

How did you end up at LSU? Cause you left a pretty, uh, you know, pretty big mark on the program before you left, but what prompted the transfer?

Just had a lot less academic stress, and it was more so just focused on baseball and how they were going to be in the best position to pursue their career.

We've seen on social media all the videos of the facilities, especially for the SEC.

Yeah, LSU's facilities were great, like weight room, bullpens, playing field, nutrition even.

It was just really easy just to go out and dominate with how much preparation we were given.

would sound like it was almost a professional atmosphere and had a professional mindset to it as well.

I know everybody on our team that year treated it like a professional team and treated it no different as how I treat pro ball today.

Now, do you think that kind of professional atmosphere contributed to that College World Series run and into the championship?

Obviously, with all those given resources, we had no excuse to play bad and not be prepared week in and week out.
