Send us Fan Mail We sit down with Jodie Hingst to unpack why property management communities share so openly and how the right conversations can…
Ashleigh GoodchildHostSo again, this is so relevant to what I've just experienced the last 24 hours.
So I agree that I think that is hot topic in businesses that are over 50, 100, 200, maybe up to 500.
But do you know yesterday at this dinner with a thousand plus, do you know that no one actually had that conversation around products? Everyone was having more of a conversation around the automation and the AI and And it was like the products were irrelevant.
In their mind, it was like maybe they all somewhat do the same thing in a way.
And I thought that that was really interesting, but it's more relevant for smaller businesses or medium businesses.
I would definitely say smaller businesses would focus on it because even in my personal business, I'm bootstrapped as hell.
The issues people have changing software, the separate set of issues that brings to change two or three years into business for the owners or the tenants.
So for me, I always had the long-term plan in mind when I picked my software because I didn't want to just go for the cheapest one because I knew that one was not where I saw my business in five years.
Yeah, I find I have a lot of those conversations, like events, coffee and conversations, like conferences, it doesn't matter.
But people are very interested when you're in our space of what you use personally.
And I find a lot of people actually love that I am in the space I'm in, but I also still have a rent role because they're like interested in how you do, how you set up, because you're still very relevant because you're on the ground.
And relevancy is so important these days because that's something that I refer to as well, that the way that we do things now is so different to even last year or the year before.
And the problems that are evolving now with behavioral issues or maintenance or different investors coming into the market changes so frequently that the messaging that you've got to put through changes every six months or 12 months like the pain points are different so it's to it's yeah so to stay relevant and to have that that empathy for what business owners are going through at the moment whether it's costings and stuff like that is definitely really important with it's interesting I agree with the long-term plan with products but There's also the other side of me that sort of thinks, oh, but it's just a product.
If you only have it for five years, you could also change it in five years too.
