S2E35 Campfire Curiosities: The Can, the Crabs, and the Note

Now, I realized something while I was figuring out what exactly one person and one cardboard librarian were going to do here tonight.

For the past three weeks, we've spent an entire summer day together.

And once you made it back from a night hike, checked yourself for ticks, and established that nothing followed you home, there's really only one thing left to do.

Well, three things, if we're being technical.

Light a fire, pull up a chair, and tell questionable stories.

So that's what we're doing.

Not ghost or horror stories.

These are the stories somebody heard from their roommate's cousin, whose sister definitely knew the person it happened to.

Tonight, for our last gathering around the fire before summer starts giving way to fall, we're going to investigate some infectious disease urban legends.

Where they came from, why people believe them, and most importantly, could they actually happen? And because every campfire story deserves an ending, each one gets a campfire verdict.

We'll separate what actually happened from what got added in the telling, and decide how much truth, if any, is hiding inside the legend.

CK will be assisting with deliberations.

Good.

Very rigorous process.
