Building a business has ups and downs at every stage, and none of them automatically mean you're doing something wrong. Sometimes there's too little going on and sometimes there's too much. Things…
Stacey Brass RussellHostAnd what I wanted to come in and talk about today is like what we do or what to do when we feel like things are just not going as fast as we want or when we feel like things are slow or maybe we're even feeling like a little bit disappointed or let down by our business or by just like the general state of like what it feels like we're doing.
because I think this is like a very, very, very normal and common thing to experience.
Like we can also let it like, turn into something where we're now feeling down or maybe even like giving up or like we're not sure if we should be doing this anymore or even that we don't know if we're doing the right thing.
And I think it's important to talk about this because when you are at any phase of your business, but especially, especially, especially in the very early stages, like when you're very first starting out and you don't really have a business yet, right? And you're in the creating of the coaching business, the service business, the business that you're building.
And you like are trying to get it off the ground, right? It can feel so...
It can feel so much like this is not what I thought I was signing up for.
I like all the things, right? Because it takes time to build all the things that we need to build.
And then even once we have an established business, and now I'm going to put myself in this category, right? We can go through periods of time where we feel like we're not really sure if we're like headed in the right direction or if the things that we're doing are moving us where we want to go or if we're spending our time Focusing on the right things.
I'm just saying I'm an established business owner and I know that there are times when it feels like business is slow or it feels like nothing's happening or it feels like I'm not... like, oh, I'm doing all this stuff, but nothing seems to be...
I'm not getting any signs, or I think I'm not getting any signs from the universe that I'm doing the right thing, or that anyone cares, or that I'm getting any responses.
When we're having these experiences, whether we're just starting or whether we're established, it can feel, it can feel, first of all, it just doesn't feel good.
And then we end up in the category of now having to get support for that for ourselves, right? We have to know how to manage those thoughts or whether or not they are when to look at our thoughts and go, oh, I need to reframe that, or I need some coaching on that, or I need to reach out and have someone normalize this or reflect this with me.
