Welcome to Season 15 Episode 33 of the ParentingAces Podcast! This week, UK-based coach, Ryan Horgan, joins the pod to talk about the best ways coaches can get young players to listen and integrate…
Ryan HorganGuestLisa StoneHostI'm your host, Lisa Stone, and as you may be hearing in my voice, uh, allergy season is in full force right now [laughs] here in Southern California.
My yard is full of flowering plants, which is gorgeous, but wreaking havoc with my sinuses.
But all of that said, I am super excited to share with you guys a coach from the UK who now resides on the island of Cyprus.
And I met Ryan, and I'm using met in air quotes, through Instagram when someone shared one of his posts with me.
Ryan has taken to Instagram to really share his thoughts on the role of coaches and the role of communication in coaching junior athletes.
He had aspirations for playing professionally, but was sidelined pretty early in his career, and turned to coaching.
And realized that, as a coach, he was receiving very little in the way of education around what he needed to do to better communicate, not only with the players he was working with, but also with the parents of those players.
And now Ryan has created an Instagram where he goes on and shares his thoughts on videos, uh, pretty regularly.
And I'll have the link to his Instagram in the show notes, so be sure to check that out.
Before I bring Ryan on, just a quick reminder if you haven't already, we'd love for you to sign up to receive our e-newsletter.
Uh, we share a lot of content on those channels and don't want you to miss out on anything.
