She was constantly out with friends, smoking, drinking in fields, basically getting up to things she shouldn't.

So along came the tracking app, or as I like to describe it, compassionate surveillance app.

After I put the Genius app on my youngest phone, I decided to suggest it to my eldest.

I couldn't just say to this then 21-year-old woman, let me put a tracking device on you like some spy in a Bourne movie, so I did it more discreetly, opting to hint at a tracking app on her phone when she's taking taxis home from town after a night out.

And yes, three years have passed since I installed them, and yes, there are highly competent young women who don't need them, but I need them.

I want to know that they are always safe and I swear I only look at the app when they're in transit.

If they are in a taxi, could something happen? The more you think about what could go wrong, the more your imagination visualizes.

I've got an app, obviously, so I can see the plane they're on and everything about the plane.

Ten years old? Is that even legal? And what do you mean? It's already been to Malaga and back today.

Does it not need to cool down or something? I know it's time to let go of the tracking apps, but I just don't know what I'll do without them.
