I wasn't standing in an outdoor classroom watching children making some incredible discovery.

The television was on, there was a computer open, there was a phone, there was scrolling, and there was work happening.

Do you know that feeling? You're physically together with someone, but you're not really together.

Instead of asking, why is someone else doing this? I started asking, what am I participating in? And then an even bigger question came to be, what kind of culture am I helping to create? That question stopped me in my tracks.

And because I spend so much time in my life thinking about outdoor classrooms, my mind immediately went there.
