What happens when the career you once dreamed of no longer brings you the same joy? In this episode of *One Tough Cookie*, I’m sitting down with Sarah, the owner of Make Your Mark, a mobile art…
So one of your videos that I watched-
...
I think it was probably your why video, but you had said what's going to come out of this is greater than money can provide.
What did you mean by that?
Well, I f- I feel like already, and I'm gonna try not to cry, but, like, being available to my kids in ways that I couldn't always do.
My mornings consisted of getting up and everyone kind of rush, rush, rush out the door, and I have to get to work and gotta get to school.
And I feel like now being able to have a slow morning, say goodbye to my boys in the morning and not feel like I am rushing or in the bathroom preoccupied getting myself ready and all of that.
I think there's so much my boys learned about watching both of their parents work, and watching their mom go to school, and knowing the world does not revolve around you.
But now I think I'm in a place in my life where unfortunately I've watched a lot of friends lose people.
I've had a- Gosh, I think four or five girlfriends lose their husbands too recently that I'm just like, life is too short.
So I feel like my days consist of getting up and I have a devotional I listen to every morning.
Mm-hmm.
That just peace within me that as scary as all of this can be, and as nothing's guaranteed, but just feeling like I can breathe and have control over my schedule a little bit more, and just have that availability to my family.
Silly things like right now we have all these drivers, and one car breaks down and this car, and it's like, "Oh, I can go get them.
I'm not at school and here until this time." Just a lot of that has been so beautiful.
