Blindspott have a new song out called Stitches, their singer Damien and drummer Shelton called in for a chat about its origins, and why the release of this one doesn't have the traditional roll out…
Fellas, look, I've got a long history with you, but this is the first time I've chatted to you, Shelton.
Damo, we know each other a little bit in other areas.
The first time I came across you guys was I was hitchhiking from Levin.
I'd spent about four and a half years there.

LAUGHTER
So I was hitchhiking back and forth from Levin to Wellington and I was in Ōtaki and I got picked up just outside Ōtaki and this woman was asking me what my background was and I said, I've just moved back from Aussie.
And she goes, oh, have you heard Blindspot before? And I said, nah, this was 2003.
And I was
like,
nah, I haven't heard it.
And so she put on Blindspot for me and we listened to that for the duration of the ride.
A hell of a time.
She was a fantastic
woman.
Sounds like her.
Great taste in music.
A psychiatric nurse
Target demo.
Strong as an ox she was.
A hell of a lover.
