And guys, it's becoming more and more clear that a long-time Nugget player at this point, now going into his third season with Denver, is not long for this team whatsoever.
And that is none other than Darron Holmes, who has never really gotten a chance with the Nuggets as his rookie year got literally ruined by an injury instantly, and he hasn't really had a chance to bounce back since then.
But then we've seen an official update on this, which really shows what we all know, and it confirmed what we all knew, as Harrison Wind did question Darron Holmes' future with the team, as he did say right here, "Darron Holmes is buried on this roster.
Doubt the Nuggets are picking up his option for next year." It's not the most surprising news to see on Darron Holmes.
He's been somebody who's never really gotten to break into this Nuggets roster.
And at this point, it does make sense for the Nuggets to move on from him financially because the Nuggets do wanna save some money, and Holmes is someone who doesn't feel like he's ever really gonna get a chance to break into this rotation fully.
And honestly, guys, when he's got a contract value that is looking at $3.37 million and is gonna even go up to $5.5 million the following season, with the Nuggets who are trying to cut costs, Holmes is someone who we can expect their-- his option to not get picked up on, as honestly right now, the Nuggets, they wanna save their money for guys who can help them win championships.
They only have a 4% chance to do it this year on Kalshi, and frankly, that is one of the big things about this team is the Nuggets are a contender right now, and they do think they can win based off their elite offense.
