Episode 9: The Best Two Weeks of Our Season?

Speaking of going faster, winners of the last two races.

Was that expected? I mean, two very different circuits, Monza and Madring.

Yeah, well, not expected because, you know, it's really tight at the moment.

As you know, we haven't updated the car with a big update for a long, long time, many, many months.

So we definitely don't go to the...

Is it Montreal, the last big update in your mind? Yeah, the last floor and body work, that was back in Montreal.

So that was a way back.

So I think early in the season, we tended to go thinking we have a car that if we do a really good job, it should be on pole.

We should be fighting for a race win.

Whereas now the margin between, you know, finishing first and finishing sixth is one or two tenths.

And it's difficult to predict because Monza is a unique track.

It needs a car that's quite slippy with low drag.

And then new circuit like Madring couldn't be more different.

But, you know, we just focus on getting the most out of the car.

And if we win, awesome.

So how do you get the most out of the car? If you're not bringing updates...

Are you, is it just, is it more operationally? Is it just, now we're over halfway point in the championship.

Do you understand the car better and that's how you're unlocking more performance out of it, therefore?

I mean, you learn a car.

As you know, as a driver, you start to really understand it.

You have a sort of database of, oh, we had this problem at this track a few weeks ago.

This was how we solved it.

I'll do that again.

And that applies with the engineers.

So there's that element there.
