BenHOST
6:36
He was trying to bring it back in.
BenHOST
6:38
And Bono's like, bro, we're not going to fix it.
BenHOST
6:41
Like, what do you think we're going to do? We're going to fix this thing.
BenHOST
6:44
Like you're done.
David CroftHOST
14:23
It's not a picture that's ever going to get to air that one.
David CroftHOST
14:26
You know, he was playing cards with Bono as well.
David CroftHOST
14:30
He was he was giving at all times, but.
David CroftHOST
14:32
He lost track time.
Jamie ChadwickGUEST
16:58
You kind of consolidate points.
Jamie ChadwickGUEST
16:59
And I think he's learning this because of a lot of the people around him.
Jamie ChadwickGUEST
17:03
And they are really helping and supporting him, the likes of Bono, Toto, Bradley at the weekend.
Jamie ChadwickGUEST
17:08
I think all these people, there's a lot more people than that, just in his camp, his dad, of course.
Guilherme NunesHOST

Pedro FilipeGUEST
13:31
É, George Russell, "the floor is yours".
Pedro FilipeGUEST
13:34
Robert DoornbosHOST
24:13
points, move on.
Robert DoornbosHOST
24:15
I think obviously the teams around him, Bono, don't underestimate Bono, the way he manages Kimi, the way he guides him, but also the mentality.
Robert DoornbosHOST
24:21
Kimi is just, he's naturally so gifted that he can really process a lot during a race.
Robert DoornbosHOST
24:26
I mean, it's impressive to see the growth.
Matt GallagherHOST
40:34
I don't know what they're doing there
Tom BellinghamHOST
40:34
... and that's so interesting that that has happened, because we were talking about this in the last race where Bono told Kimi Antonelli, "Slow down, a car's in the wall.
Tom BellinghamHOST
40:44
Slow down right to the pits and we might just get in when they throw this VSC" and that's exactly what happened.
Matt GallagherHOST
40:50
Yeah.
Matt GallagherHOST
41:01
It's true
Tom BellinghamHOST
41:01
...
Tom BellinghamHOST
41:01
it shows that Lewis Hamilton is clearly missing Bono a lot i- in that situation, because you, you literally have that evidence from the last race that Bono would've been there going, "There's a car in the wall, Lewis.
Tom BellinghamHOST
41:12
We're..." And talking him all the way around, like constant communication, "Come on, step ...
Former LegendHOST
11:39
Yeah, but it was just a slow, considered race, I think, where maybe more than anything, damage limitation was high on the order of priorities.
Andrew van LeeuwenHOST
11:50
I genuinely think there was a conversation before the race between who exactly, whether it was Bono and him or... or his management or his dad, who's a very prominent part of Kimi's kind of entourage or whatever.
Andrew van LeeuwenHOST
12:03
But there must have been a conversation along the lines of, think about what happened last year.
Andrew van LeeuwenHOST
12:09
Think about how you can try too hard to fix a mistake and you can compound that mistake massively and you can really put yourself on the back foot.
SchwagsHOST
1:28
And we see Antonelli's gap cut down from 81 to 66 points after Quali left him crashing on a Q1.
SchwagsHOST
1:39
wanting to limp it home to get it repaired, but being told very calmly by his race engineer, Bono, saying we wouldn't even be able to fix it.
SchwagsHOST
1:48
He did say please.
HuppyHOST
1:50
He sounded keen for them to give it a go, didn't he?
Peter WindsorGUEST
25:50
So, I mean, he's absolute gold, that guy, for the team, in my opinion.
Peter WindsorGUEST
25:55
I was thinking yesterday, though, chatting to Mark Slade about it, that one of the reasons possibly that Kimi is going so well and so comfortable at Mercedes, obviously he's got his own driving style, which we know and... and is there and it will always be there for him and it's always been his greatest asset but on top of that he's with Bono who's very good as we know Toto's a very good guy when it comes to saying the right thing at the right time for a guy like Kimi for sure and saw his talent early on which was brilliant but I think Frederick Vesti behind the scenes who's always been in my mind a short corner driver with a lot of finesse and touch i think he probably should get quite a lot of credit for some of the setup on that car and how well kimmy drives a vesti car if you like i'm not saying bestie has that much input on it but definitely he would because he does a lot of sim work and conversely i was wondering who plays the vesti role at red bull And if it's Yuki Tsunoda, it probably explains why Max is, you know, sometimes pretty upset with the way things are going.
Peter WindsorGUEST
27:01
Because they actually don't have, unless I'm missing something, they don't have a really supple, short corner driver like Vesti, who's intelligent and multilingual and very cool guy, at Red Bull doing all that sim work.
CameronHOST
27:15
I mean, it used to be Sebastian Buemi, but I don't know if he's still there anymore.
ToddHOST
29:52
It started 16th, dropped to 17th to start.
ToddHOST
29:56
Bono, his race engineer, said, you know, really, it's about patience.
ToddHOST
30:02
You know, this isn't going to be a Monza repeat.
ToddHOST
30:05
And he needed to – this is Monza Part 2, as Lord Bradley said.
Harry BenjaminHOST
12:49
He's had an incredible step up.
Harry BenjaminHOST
12:50
I think he's got a brilliant team around him, not only within Mercedes of Toto Wolff and Bono, his engineer, but also I think his family are pretty good at supporting him and holding him to account as well, not letting him lose himself.
Harry BenjaminHOST
13:04
But I do think, have we seen somebody like this before in Formula One where their second season they're not only challenging well for a championship and very much have one hand already on the title but they are giving off this sense of ease this sense of fun and maturity all at the same time
Marc PriestleyGUEST
13:22
I don't think we have.
Marc PriestleyGUEST
14:03
I think young Kimi is getting the right advice.
Marc PriestleyGUEST
14:06
He's delivering upon that advice and he seems completely comfortable in his own skin where he is right now.
Rosanna TennantHOST
14:11
Well, I spoke to Kimi a little earlier on to find out about that fun he's having with the team and of course, his race engineer, Peter Bonington as well.
Kimi AntonelliSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
14:18
I think it's important to obviously need to pick the right moment to do so, to have a little laugh, a little fun.
