Morteza KayyalhaGuestNate PotkerHostSo thinking about that technology, I would like to ask you how you're working with quantum devices and quantum materials in your lab.

Like we either develop them ourselves in the lab or we collaborate with material scientists who kind of like create these new materials.

And the goal of the devices is just to study some of these quantum properties.

So the materials and devices that we are interested in and we are exploring are those that in some way or another have some potential to exhibit properties that are kind of like new or unexpected when it comes to quantum scale.

But then we have our eyes set in some of the applications that these fundamental properties might enable in the future.

For example, can we develop a new material and make a new device that might lead to a quantum computer that is not noisy or can help scale up the quantum system? So we have those general goals in mind, but in the lab, we overall work with materials and devices.

It's an intersection between material science, device physics, electrical engineering, and quantum physics.
