So we got the jobs numbers this morning, bullish day, but there were some sneaky clues that I, I saw from the market that I'll bring up.
But as a whole, very bullish session.
I'm gonna focus on s- a Safety 30 stock, Western Digital, ticker symbol WDC today, as well as all of the AI photonic stocks I track.
Spoiler alert, they were all up a lot today.
Speaking of Western Digital, if you entered with me at 72, I will be discussing when I am planning to sell, what I'm looking for.
So the jobs data came out, there was heavy revisions for the previous month in July, and basically the narrative is, well, there's enough despair for the American worker where hopefully the Fed won't hike, so not hiking is a cut, and you see the rally.
But I think it's a little bit more nuanced than that.
Volume was on par today, so I'm not gonna moan about it.
Every sector was green.
Most of the Mag Seven are above their 50 DMA.
Other than yields right now, I don't see a pin for the balloon yet.
So it's a stock picker's market in that if you're looking to short, you gotta be very selective.
And where my head's at, just as a macro view, is I'm looking to book gains.
I'm not looking to initiate new longs unless the setup is perfect.
Looking at breadth, we had 94 new highs versus 306 new lows, so we're still outpacing new lows.
55% advanced versus 41% declined, 71% below the 50, 60% below the 200-day moving average.
I'm gonna take a sip of this adult beverage.
Some of these names include NetApp, Avnet, Semtech, AMD, Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrikes, Caradex.
This has been on this list a few times now.
In the NYSE, there were seven profitable names making new highs, mostly in tech, two in energy.
As I mentioned, every sector is green today.
For the week, tech led the way, 1.8. Energy is a far second place, up 0.7 with utilities and industrials.
