Today we finished our series on Scripture with special guest speaker Steve Martin.
About six months after Sally and I were married, hello Sally, everyone say hello Sally.
A big company swallowed up the company I worked for, and it wasn't anything personal.
A whole heap of people just lost their jobs because they were surplus to the new organisation.
But this time, and I think maybe because we were married, I felt that responsibility of family.
I'd lost my job, yes, but on the very day I was made redundant, I received another job offer.
In the morning, I got a call, hey, we want to offer you a job in the afternoon, I was made redundant, I was like, ripper Rita, I get to pocket this entire redundancy and it became our house deposit.
You know, the provision of God in that moment was just wonderful, but all I could see was gloom.
