Before we jump into everything, investment tip of the week.
As we...
As I continue monitoring the market, because I'm on eBay way too much, you probably noticed that modern has been stalled a little bit, a little bit of a dip, which is always expected around the summertime, the summer lull.
But you also see that vintage continues to set records everywhere, which we'll talk about a little bit later.
But unfortunately, not all of us can spend six figures on cards, and we want to know what And the next major opportunity is, or investment tip.
So my investment tip of the week, low population, PSA 10, diamond, pearl era, black, white era is a play.
Personally, I would not tell you this because if I was actually doing this myself, I would be making this play, but I'm actually doing some other things right now.
So I'll just throw this out there just for fun.
So example of this, let's just take a modern set black and white.
It is a $1,500 card, the number 172.
And the original Zekrom for the OG black and white, number 114. which are much lower, lower pop.
I can't give you the exact pop because the population report is kind of messed up on that because they added a different qualifier.
It looks like a gray back version a black white version I don't know if they kind of combine those in a popper port but even if you combine them it's still a much lower pop at 5k USD so to me I'm not a numbers guy but those type of numbers don't make a lick of sense whatsoever so yeah if you want to continue looking for opportunities and you're out of WOTC and that vintage of cards PSA 10 from XY Diamond Pearl Black White solid play
I always thought, like, pop numbers and stuff, like, sometimes, like, don't make sense.
And, like, we've always, we've come to this realization, I'd probably say, maybe, like, 2018 to 2020-ish range, that the modern market is completely different than the vintage market.
You know, when you see, like, the Darkness Ablaze, you know, Charizard, and it's got this crazy pop, and you're like, but the old Charizards are such low pops, isn't that? And you see that more and more and more as Pokemon grows, as more people get into Pokemon, you see these numbers where you have a pop 40,000 PSA 10, where the card is a multi-thousand dollar card and you have vintage cards where maybe the PSA 9 version of that is under 500.
And the prices for the modern is way, way higher.
It just doesn't make sense.
So I would say the two markets are totally different and that the pop reports when it comes to it, just be careful.
A lot of times the low pop people, they would really chase cards and they'd make a lot of money.
And they'd say, oh, it's under pop 10.
They chase, they chase, they chase.
and it works until the population goes up.
