Episode 195 - Next Lawyer Up with Ron Sykstus featuring David Block

I appreciate it.

I'm happy to be here.

I feel like the, uh, I feel like I've made the, the summit of my career or either, you know, recently-

[laughs] Well, listen, I take-

...

the, the bottom of the barrel

[laughs] I take that as high praise.

Thank you.

[laughs] No, you know what, um, I always tell folks, uh, you and I were just talking before we started about our mutual friend, Jim Kaplan, and I started this, uh, kind of a side podcast called Ronnie and Friends, and I knew y- so I have in my head, like, friends of mine that are not lawyers that I wanted to d- talk to, and I kind of know their story, but the, I wanted to know it in depth, and that guy, um, you know, just so dynamic and so talkative and, and that's kind of why I like to do this.

I mean, it's interesting to me.

And I always tell folks I grew up on Chicago radio, which is kind of where this evolved from.

But enough about me.

So you are as, as I say in the little introduction about you, you're what we'll call big law.

Fair?

[laughs] Uh, yes, I suppose so.
