REACTION: ‘HUGE Get For Hurley!’ 5-Star NaVorro Bowman COMMITS to UConn!

Yeah, obviously goes to school in Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, visited UConn over the weekend.

I don't I think they were after the visit.

They were starting to shape up well for him.

I don't think he committed while on the visit.

The recruiting period started back up on Wednesday yesterday.

So college coaches are able to go out and see these guys at their high schools and teams and players are experiencing that all over the country.

And I think that is when they were able to seal the deal yesterday afternoon and get the verbal commitment from Navarro.

You know, he had schools like North Carolina looking to maybe set up a visit this fall with him.

He was scheduled to go to Illinois this weekend and even Texas and Arizona in the weeks to come.

So really good pickup for UConn.

I think he fits what Dan Hurley is about.

And Now UConn's out on all the other guards that they're recruiting.

They had guys like Micah Gordon, King Gibson, and even Caden Daughtry, all, you know, highly ranked, you know, guards.

I would consider King more of a combo, but still, you know, guards in general.

So they've got their point guard of the future.

And really nice, really nice pickup, especially to get him kind of done after just taking one official visit that he didn't even see any other schools.

Thanks a lot, son.

Jamie, give us a breakdown.

How do you feel about this fit with Navarro going to UConn?

Yeah, I mean, looking at what Navarro Bowman Jr. brings, there's a toughness and a physicality factor that he has, and the fit of what Dan Hurley has done with his point guards.

He has enjoyed bigger frame point guards, strong point guards, obviously the physicality that UConn has as an entirety of a program, but guards that can not only get the team in the sets, but also score the basketball.

We've seen with Navarro Bowman, he played USA this summer, 11 points, 3.6 assists on 59% from the field and the gold medal-winning USA basketball in the U-17 World Cup.

This summer, playing with Team Why Not, he averaged over 20-20 a game, 20.5 points per game on 2.3, made threes per game as well on the EYBL circuit play.

There's a lot that he brings when it comes to the physicality factor.

Obviously, his dad was an all-pro linebacker, now a college coach.
