Yes, all of those jokes about, do we need to hide the garden hose now that you're here in Parliament? Uh-oh, here comes the weeders.
But I have to say, I think we don't seem to get as many of those these days.
I think you and I have often reflected on this, that in the few years that we have been elected now, we're really seeing a change of rhetoric, even from the most conservative of MPs.
You know, they talk about we've done a lot of work together on the discrimination that medicinal cannabis patients experience with the driving laws.
Often we hear members of parliament now saying they understand the difference between impairment and presence and they understand what position we're in.
No, it's been remarkable, you know, and I guess that's part of why we're here.
But it's also at one level it's a bit frustrating because it doesn't necessarily translate into change.
And I guess at some reason, you know, to some extent, we've just got now more articulate, knowledgeable people who don't like us
on the topic.
But
I don't know about you, but the other one that I really love with our relationship with our professional colleagues is the number of them that have a friend who would like to know about xyz to do with cannabis or can they take that my friend wants to know can she take her medicine to tasmania or to new zealand you know is that is that legal yeah or your friend is going to new zealand yes i'm going with them oh right okay it's like it's lovely because they've still got that reticence but they also they also turn to us as though we're sort of professional cannabis prescribers or something.
And it's almost like that risk mitigation, but it's obvious that they're the ones that we're talking to about the particular topic.
I've had many of our colleagues disclose to me that they're now medicinal cannabis patients.
And I find it interesting because it's for reasons why I use medicinal cannabis as well.
