But altogether that creates an unofficial podcast.

Not an official one.

Hey, Lyle, is this a bit of a coup for Family First, scoring a recruit of the level of reputation of a Moira Deeming? Any thoughts there?

Well, Neil, I think it's a coup for the long-suffering families of Western metropolitan Melbourne, but also for families all over Australia who desperately want to see voices like Moira Demings remain in Australian parliaments, in this case, the Victorian parliament.

And we've seen the Liberal Party do everything it can to drive Moira out of that party over a period of about four or five years.

She's been relentlessly persecuted.

And it does seem to be a little bit coincidental that there are Christians involved in all of that.

Yeah, look, this has been going on for years within the Liberal Party.

I mean, when Moira was preselected four years ago, you know, for the Western Metropolitan seat, the then leader, Matthew Guy, the man who has been successful in setting a trap and getting rid of her in this latest incident, instance he wouldn't even have her come to the party's election launch ahead of the 2022 election i mean the persecution started before she got into parliament it just continued relentlessly over the john prosciutto issue where he smeared her as a as an associate of nazi she had no choice but to take him to court she won uh and then they found another concocted reason to get rid of her in the last few months so she's done her best to try and reform the liberals from within as many of my friends around the country are trying to do but the liberals seem to hate anyone who will stand up for christian values who will stand up for mainstream family values if you're quiet within the liberals that's fine they don't mind quiet people but if you want to speak up for girls and women's sex-based rights for the human rights of unborn babies just for common sense values the liberals will persecute you and that's what they've done to Moira

I think there was a similar story wasn't there with Bernie Finn just some years ago and again his Christian values to the fore and liberals uncomfortable with those

And I guess for people who haven't caught up on the news, you and I held a press conference yesterday here at the Victorian Parliament where we're recording this.

And we've announced that you've joined our party and we're going to be backing you to recontest your Western Metropolitan Regional seat for the Legislative Council here in the Victorian Parliament.

It's so exciting and I'm so grateful to have the support of Family First and Yeah, it's just a real relief to have joined a party that supports the things that I support, not just when it suits them.

Look, we're really pleased to have you, Moira, and you and I have been friends for many years and we've known each other from even before when you got into Parliament.

Dumped Liberal MP Moira Deeming has been courted by the Conservative Family First Party ahead of the November state election.

Mrs Deeming will again run for the Western Metropolitan Region upper seat she currently holds after she was disendorsed by the Liberal Party and then quit.
