Send us Fan Mail My Amazon Guy shows how sellers can use the new Detach from Family and Ungroup Variation Family options in Manage Inventory. This…

Everyone has always known that Amazon's Variation Wizard kinda sucks, and finally, they are doing something about it inside Seller Central, because for years, the only way to properly do anything with variations was through a flat file, and Amazon has now announced they have added a way to detach a variant or ungroup a variation family directly with inside manager inventory.

All you have to do is click on down on these three little buttons here and you'll see this here where it says detach from family.

Even better yet, if you go to the actual variations themselves and you just click the three little buttons, you can actually see down here that it has on group variation family entirely.

A big thing to think about here is whether or not this actually going to work because my personal assessment of how the variation wizard has always worked is that a lot of times it doesn't actually push through the update you're trying to push through onto Amazon's front end.

That's the entire point of doing a flat file update is to make sure that whatever you're doing actually pushes through.

I have a feeling that this is going to have a couple of kinks, a couple of bugs here and there, and you're going to end up with some ghost parentages.

But at the end of the day, it's something that Amazon is trying to do to make our lives a little bit better, especially considering that they just bombed us with this giant UI change that nobody asked for, that is just very sloppily done, and nobody can find anything anyway.

Hopefully this makes it a little bit easier to do something because I have no idea where the variation wizard even is now on the new UI.
