What do you think from your international travels that you'll bring home to Canada within your field and in your podcast?

I think it's open-mindedness and we've been in the IB education system for 30 years and there's 10 learner profile attributes that all IB schools embrace and the big one is open-mindedness and we have to remain open-minded to new experiences, new cultures, new ways of thinking and that's especially important when working with teachers across the globe.

we first have to connect with them and understand what their context is like right so i think that open-mindedness is key and pivotal to being able to be impactful you know both of you as authors you're not writing to the north american audience you're writing to the global audience And that takes on a different significance, right? Because we have to be open-minded and understand that people experience teaching and learning in different ways, especially the way they grew up in the systems they grew up in, which were very dominated by control and compliance.

So breaking that, and Lynn, we talked about that shift in pedagogical mindset, right? And it takes a shift in pedagogical mindset to really look at what the research is telling us about engagement with movement, which is a lifelong pursuit.

But I would say that the traditional system served us through the last century, going into the 2000s.

But then everything changes, right? And if we're truly going to be impactful in the physical education and health space, we have to shift our perspective and shift our mindset to reflect the conditions necessary for young people to be truly impactful.

engaged in movement to inspire them to want to stay connected to movement for life, especially given the digital age and the disconnection with movement that we're experiencing around the world.
