What are a few lessons that you imparted to your children that you might recommend to parents who are raising athletes? I think Lynn and I were both in that boat, and a lot of times in the moment it's difficult to know sometimes how to guide a child

I see it a lot in tournaments where they miss a ball or they lose a match, and Parents, sometimes they don't even talk to their kids because they lost.

Because they lost to someone their parent thought he should never lose to.

But I tell parents now, and I still do, even though I'm not that much involved in tennis, I tell them that a parent should tell their kid whenever they're going to play a match, if you win, you choose where we're going to eat.

I think that as parents raising athletes, you're so right that we really do have to resist getting overly involved.

Like I used to tell my kids in all honesty, I said, you can do anything you want to do in your life.

If you want to chase garbage trucks and that is going to be your hobby, I will be right there with you.

And I think that as a parent who raises an athlete, we really have to say, this is your gig.
