An emotional sit down with a dear friend, about her journey with loving a partner with addiction, losing herself trying to save the relationship, and what happened when she finally realized she was worthy of her own love. Topics: - Prioritizing Everyone Else- the hard wiring for so many people, when we want to help and prioritize everyone else first and then somewhere along the line lose ourselves. And you just can't pour from any empty cup or teach our kids that this is okay - Navigating and healing the blame, guilt and shame with a relationship of over 20 years ends due to addiction - Control and Independence- how they can be/are our protectors, and how its not sustainable and needs to be unravelled after hard chapters where we lean into this - Redefining what Matters- 'I can make more money, but I can't make more time'; how relearning success and redefining what really fuckin matters allows you to create space for yourself to find your peace - Ebs and Flows- the absolute necessity to unlearn that we must always be good, and normalizing that life just had harder seasons and thats okay - Breaking the Cycle- how incredible doing our own work, navigating the really hard shit, and coming out the other side (especially in-front of our children) really does heal pieces for them and end lineage cycles - Relationships in Adulthood- being with someone who is also growing along side you, finding safety in a healthy relationship, and how things change in when you have done your work - Aging Peacefully- when the lens changes in life, the things that you really need are easy, and you truly understand that life is a blessing and the beauty of being boring - Everything ends- how things come into your life, and leave (on purpose) because that is just how things are intended to be, and how we must trust that process - What the Body Holds- the importance of finding balance in how we care for self, expect of self, and meet self, including acknowledging our coping mechanisms and allowing change without it impacting your worth.
