It takes energy to present what you do to someone, to pitch to someone, to see if they're the right fit or not.

And what's the worst thing that happens? any person doing a sales call or presenting or negotiating can come across is coming across someone who's listened to your entire pitch and ended up wasting your freaking time.

Now, if you're listening to this, my guess is if you're in business and you're in sales, you're in negotiations, you're in situations where you're needing to communicate and influence with other people, then my guess is that Your worry is talking to people who are going to waste your time.

And you've been in these situations before, haven't you? You've done it already.

Or they just wasted your time by saying something like, well, I'm not ready right now.

Well, look, how do you spot a time waster within 60 seconds or less? Well, a lot of the time it's non-verbal.

Now, what do I mean by that? Well, look, providing you're communicating with someone face to face, you can pretty much tell by their body language whether they're serious or not.

You see, people who are going to waste your time, they are not actually listening to you properly.

Here's what's going on, and this is very, very subtle, so you need to know how to pick up on this.

Half of them is listening to you, half of them in the back of their mind is, well, you're not going to do it now anyway, so don't get too close to this person because they're going to try and close you.

And if you're good at what you do, you can pick up on this immediately because you can tell through calibrating on their body language, calibrating on their eye contact, calibrating on how they are sitting, calibrating on their positioning, calibrating on their tone of voice, calibrating on their their eye contact, all these wonderful, when you calibrate on all of these wonderful things, you can tell whether someone's actually in or not.
