Thank you for practicing with me, my friends 🤍 If this meditation supported you, I would love to hear from you in the comments: What did this practice help you notice, release, or remember today?…
Most of us are taught quietly and constantly that freedom lives outside of us.
Freedom is having more choices, more money, more time, more control, fewer obligations or no one telling us what to do.
We think, when my life looks a certain way, then I'll finally, finally be free or feel free.
But reality is much more complicated than that.
People with perfect looking lives still feel trapped.
People with very little in the way of options sometimes radiate a strange, unshakable freedom.
So where does true freedom actually live? Well, this guided meditation explores a very simple and radical idea.
Circumstances can limit your options.
they cannot imprison your inner stance unless you abandon it you may not choose what happened in your childhood how certain people behave the economy your genetics many events that arrive at your doorstep uninvited but you do have some say over how you relate to your own thoughts whether you believe every story your mind tells, whether you act from your deepest values or from automatic fear, whether you live entirely in reaction or with a steady anchored center.
This is not spiritual bypass.
We're not pretending that circumstances don't matter.
They do, they shape us, they create real constraints, but they don't have the final say on your inner freedom.
And in the language of our meditation today, inner freedom looks like the ability to notice a thought, an emotion or an impulse and not automatically obey it, or the capacity to pause and respond from clarity instead of pure reactivity.
A deep sense that something in me is larger than this moment, even when the moment is hard.
Freedom is not the absence of difficulty.
It is the presence of an inner space that difficulty cannot fully occupy.
And today you're not here to change your entire life situation.
You're here to taste the kind of freedom that is available even inside your situation.
And in a freedom beyond circumstances that arises within.
