uh how you would treat the film and also i picked my crew my team accordingly so i had a very good team uh vijay ratnam was the supervising sound editor then i got him because i liked his work in many films that he has done and i wanted that kind of a texture in my film as well Then I had Shailesh supervising the dubs and doing the dub match.

He was the dialogue editor.

And Shantanu Yenumadi, who cleaned the dialogues and who was also the main dialogue editor there.

Then we had the Foley team was from China.

And...

My anchor in this place was, uh, Ashwin, uh, who's always with me and who was like, who's like the nerve center coordinating between the various, uh, departments.

Could you just

elaborate a little bit

on what, uh, Foley means actually? Foley is, uh, artificially created sound effects.

It is, uh, it was discovered by a gentleman called Foley in the US.

And, uh, the, the things like, you know, when you're, you're, you're, uh, Like, you know, the activities that you're doing, the sound effects of the activities that you're doing, like opening the door, shutting the door, uh, stirring your coffee, keeping it there, your footsteps when you're walking on various surfaces, like gravel, like wooden floors, like stuff like that.

Aircraft, uh, uh, aircraft, uh, floors.

So, and your Russell, your handling of the guns, not the gunshots, but the handling of the guns, the, you know, all those kinds of activities, somebody walking around the table, somebody sitting down on the table, the chair, the Russell, the sounds that we take for granted in everyday life.

So there is a whole track which is doing this.

And sometimes we end up layering these particular sound sounds to create a dramatic effect.

Right.

And treat this with sounds that are non-sync sounds or sounds from the library.

So we sometimes enhance the foley sounds.

If you want to make the footsteps a little more dramatic, we kind of add layers to it.

Then what we do is things like gunshots, aircraft, thunder.

These are sounds which are non-sync sounds.

We have atmospheric sounds, which is like the weather, the wind.

The thunder, the rain, you know, those kind of sounds.

Then creaking, you know, like your house creaking or your, you know, if you're in the aircraft or if you're in a vehicle, the creaking sounds of the vehicle.

So those are sounds which are atmospheric sounds, which are ambient sounds.
