We're bringing back a previous conversation where Mehak sits down with sex educator and pleasure expert Danielle Bezalel—host of…
Danielle BezalelGuestMehakHost[upbeat music] Hello, hello, and welcome back to Lovely.
Happy Friday, everyone.
[upbeat music] So this month, we've had quite a few fun episodes.
We covered everything from astrology to midnight ballerinas, and next week, spoiler alert, we are getting into OnlyFans.
So it only felt right to run it back this week with a very interesting conversation I had with Danielle Bezalel, also known as DB.
She is a sex educator, a pleasure expert, and the host of her own podcast called Sex Ed with DB.
In this episode, it's very informative, very insightful, but also just amazing because we talk about why so many of us experience intimacy and sex from outside of our bodies instead of the inside.
And then we got into this whole rabbit hole of aesthetic capitalism and self-surveillance, which is very prominent in today's dating climate.
You are dating, but you're watching yourself date other people, so you're more focused on how are you looking, how are you acting, versus just feeling.
And then we kind of go into, you know, well, how do you kind of move away from all of these things and regulate yourself as all these things are coming up.
So we talked about body neutrality, we talked about responsive desire versus spontaneous desire, and then we obviously brought it back to pleasure.
Why pleasure and not orgasms is, like, the real measure of good sex, which is a common misconception.
The conversation really kind of evolved throughout, and it, it really focuses on, you know, how we think about intimacy, and it changes your perspective a little bit on certain things and kind of allows you to react and approach things differently, um, as you navigate your own relationships with your partners, yourself, or whoever you're in a relationship with.
So I hope you enjoy.
