UConn Huskies signal a new era as Head Coach Jason Candle brings fresh energy and hands-on leadership to Storrs. Can this rejuvenated culture spark a turnaround for UConn football? The team’s revamped…
I am your host, Matt Shonvisky, here on campus, in stores, inside the UConn football facility, right down the hall, between those doors at the end with the UConn Husky logos.
Huskies are in the middle of practice number four here of training camp, and We got the chance for the first time this camp to check out the team.
Very limited, only the first 25 minutes got to see the team run around, stretch out, run through a little bit of drills.
But some key takeaways from today, even with the limited time and not seeing any seven on seven or even 11 on 11, Again, very limited amount of practice that we saw, but some key takeaways.
Jason Candle seems to be a very hands-on coach, very attentive to how he was interacting with his players.
And one of the more hands-on coaches UConn has had here in stores over the years, definitely one key takeaway.
That's definitely a key as UConn kicks off their first season under Jason Candle here in Storrs.
As you guys know, each and every single day we've been talking about various position groups.
Before we even dive in, before we even stepped inside the facility, we checked out the new practice fields up on the hill here behind the football facility, behind Gampel.
They completely redid the fencing around the field, two new turf fields they've installed for goalposts as opposed to years past they've been on wheels.
I'm not sure if I'm a huge fan of practicing on turf each and every single day when you're on a grass field.
And then we meandered inside the practice facility and got to check out, like I said, the first 25 minutes or so of practice.
drills like we mentioned no seven on seven no 11 on 11 which is a little disappointing but certainly we're going to get a chance to check out the team and have a full practice next saturday at the rent with the fans as well so i know you diehards who watch me every single day are going to be there be able to check out for yourselves exactly what's transpiring with the program Quarterback position.
