I think the most interesting thing about combat zone is how naive we were, um, heading into the studio to do 10 songs.
And it was kind of funny because we didn't think about our physical limitations.
And driving home from the first day of 12 hours of playing guitar, I could barely hold my steering wheel.
From Boston to New Hampshire, my hands were like... throbbing i had to get some sleep and be in the studio the next day
yeah yeah we did two we scheduled two back-to-back 12-hour blocks good lord and during a snowstorm well the first day wasn't the snowstorm but like you know i i had the first days the drums right yeah so i had to pound them for 12 hours because it was like you know test you know sound levels for the first three hours and
well i i wasn't thinking about that but then then we had some friction right and we didn't start our first track or complete our first track to like 4 30 in the afternoon and we were there at 10 yeah oh wow and then once we hit our stride we just kept going kept going so after the 12 hours i'm like
What is this? Well, it's funny because I know you're not a sports guy, but I know you know the analogy of when the coach comes out to the mound and asks the pitcher for the ball.
So after Billy had been singing for what, about eight hours? I could hear it in his voice.
