August 29, 2026: Love-driven Ministry

Before we get to today's Sabbath School broadcast, I want to say thank you.

I want to say thank you to Dr. Miguel Mendez, who has for years now been an anchor in this Sabbath School program.

Miguel was a part of our pastoral team, as you know, for many years.

And then a year or two ago, he went to the School of Religion and is doing extremely well as a professor here at Loma Linda University.

But he continued in this role out of the goodness of his heart and has been very effective in what he has done.

We've now filled the role that Miguel used to have.

Philip Milosavljevic is stepping into that role.

And so Miguel is handing the baton off to Pastor Phil.

But before he goes completely from this broadcast, I want to, on the part of the church, on the part of the pastoral team, as one who is friends with Miguel and colleagues with him, say thank you to him.

Miguel, thank you for your keen insights, your wisdom, the fact that you care deeply about scripture and you care deeply about people and all that you have brought to this community over so many years.

We love you.

We appreciate you.

We're so glad you're still in this community and still a part of us overall.

And we thank you for the time that you have spent with this community in our weekly Sabbath school.

God bless you, Miguel, and know that you have our deepest gratitude.
