Called to Coach, Entrusted to Lead: A Conversation with Justin Dee

Um, so you're here now.

Uh, you had a turnaround project when you got here, and, uh, first year probably was a bit of a test of sanctification, a little bit.

You're having a pretty good year this year.

Now, I know it's not the year you wanna have, but given our history of our program and some ups and downs we've had over that, things are looking really great.

You're having, I think it's an incredible year.

In two years you have, you have taken a program that was in a not so good place and have brought it along incredibly well.

I think that, uh, I, I told people that last year, um, I've never had a year like last year in two different ways.

You know, in between the whistles, I've never had a record like that.

Um, you know, we were two and 30.

Mm-hmm.

You know? Um, but after the whistles, the women that were in that program-

Yeah, they're sublime

... that were on that team, uh, specifically the twins, Hope and Faith Raymond, were just two-

Yeah

... amazing women.

Tinley Ruman and Darcy Broglen, just I could go down the line of what God was doing through me in just really solidifying my opportunity and, and saying that, "I have you here." And I've h- never had a team like that.

Wow.

I've never had women, especially two and 30.

You're looking at two and 30, and these ladies are encouraging each other.

They're joyful.

They want to come to practice.

They love each other.

And John Maxwell says, "When you're winning, nothing hurts."

[laughs]

When you're losing, everything hurts.
