Faith Under Pressure - Abraham and Sarah [ENCORE]

Why don't you tell us a bit about this topic of faith under pressure, Sarah and Abraham's story.

So how does waiting on the promise of God affects us and our relationship with him?

Thank you, Denise.

It's so good to be back in studio, and it's a good place for us to start by talking about the topic and how it ties to Abraham and Sarah's story.

The story of Abraham and Sarah is incredibly relevant for modern couples because it shows how faith can be tested by the challenges of life.

Now in the story, we see that God promised Abraham that he would become the father of a great nation.

Yet years passed without that promise being fulfilled.

And during that waiting period, we begin to see how uncertainty slowly introduces doubt and anxiety in the couple's relationship.

And this is where the pressure begins to build.

This is where the faith becomes tested under pressure.

And that's why we're calling this show Faith Under Pressure.

Like many couples today, Abraham and Sarah were trying to understand how God's promises could possibly come to pass when their circumstances seem to contradict it.

And maybe you are going through something today that you feel that God had promised you and the circumstances that you're currently living through doesn't match those promises at all.

And your faith is under pressure.

Maybe like Abraham and Sarah, you're beginning to doubt.

And you're beginning to take matters in your own hands.

So what makes their story so powerful is that it reveals both their struggle and God's faithfulness.

Even when they tried to solve the problem themselves by bringing Hagar into the situation, God ultimately remained faithful to his promise.

And let me say that when they brought Hagar into the situation, In essence, they were saying that they couldn't trust God to be reliable anymore.

This action showed a deterioration of their trust and belief in the God that they serve.

His reliability is now called into question.

His faithfulness is now called into question.

His potential to do the impossible is called into question.

And so many of us may be on that journey today where our faith is under pressure.

But faith under pressure does not mean God is absent.
