On today’s episode, Dr. Robyne invites us to look at gratitude a little differently. Rather than simply naming the things we’re thankful for, she reflects on what happens when gratitude moves from…
One of the things that I find so interesting is that there is enormous amount of evidence that talks about how gratitude actually changes us physiologically, psychologically, and on a tier, even spiritually.
And something that I know is that a lot of folks, when they, when we talk about the power of gratitude practices, they kinda think of it as just kind of like an afterthought.
I've heard people say before, like, "You know, Robin, I've pr- I've, you know, I've did my gratitude journal, but, like, I don't really see it making a difference." And I remember having a moment talking to someone around what a gratitude practice could look like, and I, I struggled in that moment when they said they just don't feel like they get anything out of it.
Because when I really, really, like, go deep into my own gratitude practice, like, when I really, really settle into it, it literally makes me weep.
It brings me to my knees when I am present deeply in the place of gratitude.
So I wanted to kinda deconstruct, well, what is it that I'm, I'm doing or...
'Cause I, I want you to be able to have that experience where that gratitude just literally just, like, you feel ablaze.
I want that especially for you that's listening right now, right here in this moment.
So the research is very, very strong on consistency with a gratitude practice.
So it's something that, like everything, the more reps we get, the better we're gonna get at it.
Now, the piece that we also know is gratitude, for all intents and purposes, is relatively easy to express.
It's easy to express when we are in a good season, when everything is rolling up us, and we're feeling well-resourced, and things are going relatively well.
It's actually not that hard to think about things that we are grateful for to be, are in that place of deep gratitude.
However, what we know is that it's when things are going not so great that gratitude really gives us the best ROI.
And the ability to practice gratitude when the... essentially it feels like the sky is falling, like that, my friends, is an art.
