What is training? What is learning? Training really is something that you join kind of deliberately and consciously and hope to learn from.

Some training is extremely poor and you just get bored and fed up and get put off the idea of training.

And that's an internal process and is what the person needs to do in order to move from one state to another state in order to kind of change the neural connections and solidify those neural connections, new neural connections in their brain.

And I think the conversations that happen within sort of L&D communities sometimes mix them up.

And of course, you know, we went from being the training department to being, you know, the learning and development department.

Yes, because development in its, just by definition, requires more of a journey type approach where it's an ongoing, something only develops over time and that.

So do you think that learning and development was just a convenient label, but most of my experiences are, and this is no disrespect to people in that area, is that they're still just offering training?

It's called Talent Development Team, but it's just another name for the same thing.

I think the technology often causes big problems because tech companies tend to not have a learning mentality.
