Uh, but this is something that was, uh, something that was pissing me off last night.
I...
It really annoys me when people are a f- like super fan of a single athlete and aren't a fan of the sport or have no respect for the other competitors in the sport.
Um, it really winds me up, right? Like here in the strength training world, there are just people that go around that no matter what crazy lift someone does, they just comment, "Oh, this contextualizes how crazy John Hack is." It's like, "Yes, I get it.
I'm worse than John Hack." Come on, man.
I think Jo- uh, Nikola Jokic has got some of these folks where it's like, uh, man, you aren't a fan of baseball or basketball.
Uh, just like you don't care about the sport.
You don't care about what's happening in the season.
All you like to do is just go to YouTube videos about this one athlete and like do some weird hero worship mumbo jumbo, uh, and just like discredit other athletes, which is really annoying to me, right? Because that, that guy that you look up to, that guy that you think is super cool, has a love for the sport, and he has a ton of respect for his fellow competitors.
Maybe you should look into it too.
Um, if you can't tell, I've been, I've been watching a lot of sports content and, uh, man, that dynamic really fundamentally bothers me, where you're only a fan of a singular athlete.
You just have a hobby of like worshiping one dude who...
Like, yeah, all of these people that I've listed like Shohei Ohtani, unprecedentedly great.
Nikola Jokic, unprecedentedly great, right? These, these are phenom- Larry Bird, legend, right? Phenomenal players, but I, I just...
I don't know.
It's, it's a weird like live vicariously through someone, don't really respect the sport.
It's...
I don't know.
I just, I guess I'm a bit of a sports purist.
I just like physical endeavors.
I like the people that pursue them, the different characters that emerge in the quest to like push a physical endeavor to its furthest.
I think that's badass.
