"Chasing The Dragon" 10.24.26

We're having a very spirited series of conversations.

Not really about politics, but just, you know, kind of covering the midterm election.

I wouldn't be doing my job if I wasn't

doing that.

We're

talking a little bit about Star ratings.

I'm just going to die on that hill, Dave.

If you listen to this show, AEP is out.

Go and find yourself the best plan.

I don't care what plan.

I'm not endorsing any plan in Maryland.

I've talked about there are a whole bunch of them.

Go to CMS.gov. It's all out there.

Get the best plan that's for you.

If you're diabetic and you're taking medications or you're on a statin or something like that, and you want to look at co-pays, if you're looking at switching from a PPO to HMO or vice versa, whatever the best option is, I'm just telling people to educate yourself and do what's best for your

family.

You know what occurs to me, like listening to you, is like for somebody that knows nothing about stars, why should you care, right? You just said, research, pick the best plan, right? So why should you research, right? And the answer is, Because stars are connected with money.

Stars may or may not reflect the quality of the organization perfectly.

I like to say may or may not.

Right? They may not.

They may not because there could be submission problems, right? Data problems.

But what we can say 100% is if you don't have a four or a higher...

You're making a lot less money.

Right.

What does that translate into? Lower, lower benefits.
