Birding With Batt 08-04-26

I want to thank everybody.

I went to the Bee Bash 4.0,

and that was

held in rural Janesville.

And Jan and Larry Hoffman put on this wonderful thing.

They had over 200 people, I'm sure, there.

So it was just wonderful talking to them.

And I got to talk with Terry, who made the pollen car, because I was wondering... what in the world is a pollen car? I kind of imagined that it might be what it turned out to be, but then I thought it'll probably be something different.

It's a Honda Fit

with a straight

stick, and it's painted in bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, hoverflies, you name it.

It's painted on there, and it's just kind of an homage to honey.

It's just really cool, and I don't I didn't know, I didn't learn Terry's last name.

So Terry, but she's a talented artist.

And Larry said that none of this would have been possible had it not been for the good work of Joan Mooney, who I got to talk to there, Jonas from Waseca.

And boy, just Joanie Mooney, I just appreciate her, known her for a long time.

And she's just one of those wonderful people that make great things happen.

Yesterday

I was at Lake Louise State Park and I'm sitting, they have a picnic grounds and it sits right by the water.

So there's swimmers, there's kayakers, there's people cooking up meals that you sit there and you can just, you almost are filled just by the sense of all the foods they're making over there.

And had two different people come up and I was sitting with two good friends, Harvey and Bonita, and we're talking about Harvey lived in Finland for 30 years, so he's got an endless supply of stories.

And we're just enjoying one another's company, or at least I hope they were enjoying mine.

I sure was enjoying theirs, when we had two different people come up and reported seeing a bobcat

there.

And it was just cool.
