This morning as we look at the truth.
Of John chapter 8 verses 12 through 20.
What Jesus says, I am the light of the world.
The issue that you and me experience today is that that is not a truth that is to be disputed.
But the true core issue is not the question, is Jesus the light of the world? But the question that has implications for your life and eternity is this.
Is Jesus the light of your world? Of your marriage? Of your children? Of your Sunday school class? Of your church? Of your body of Christ? Of your neighborhood? Because Jesus is the light of the world.
But if he is not the light of your world, There is no hope.
As we read John chapter 8, verses 12 through 20, we discover something very important.
And that is that if we are to turn our desperation into illumination from Jesus Christ, Him being the light of our world, the first truth that we have to understand is the claim that Jesus makes.
And you and I, we're familiar with that little song.
How does it go? This little light of mine, let it shine.
We're familiar with that children's song.
But the statement that Jesus makes in John chapter 8 is much deeper than a children's tune.
