Your inbox is chaos. Your to-do list never ends. And you're carrying tasks that shouldn't be yours. In this episode, the KMC Coaches get real about neglected tasks, email overload, and…
So here's the thing, you know, is a lot of people do struggle, and I am.
I mean, we admitted on the last episode that all of us are kind of recovering from from being a little, you know, procrastinating.
And maybe I've been procrastinating on cleaning out my email box, because like I said, it's been a couple of years.
But I, you know, I do know that when I've been working with some of the leaders that I've been working with, one of the questions I get hit with is, why do I always feel so busy all the time? And I feel like the things that matter the most are don't get done because there's always something jumping up in my way.
There's always somebody at my office door saying, you got a minute that always takes an hour.
And so, you know, I think it's one of those things where a lot of our listeners, including us sitting here around the virtual roundtable, struggle with of feeling like, man, there's always something coming on.
There's always somebody else's priorities that sometimes get shoved into my priorities, which, again, that's where boundaries come in.
And we'll probably get into some of that somewhere along this episode.
But I think what we need to do is talk about some of the critical things that we've learned over the years of how do we get time and tasks done and what can we do to to help leaders get a handle on some of this where they can be what do we preach here all the time on on the podcast consistently running with a positive pace a healthy godly sustainable pace Um, and how do we help leaders do that? So I think that's, it's kind of where we want to go tonight.
Uh, as we were putting this episode together, thinking it through, Hey, what do we want to help people with? Well, this is a big thing is how do we, what are some of the questions we should be asking? And so I would love to hear some of your guys' thoughts about what are you learning to intentionally prioritize the things that you need to get done, um, that are going to have the greatest kingdom impact because we can all get busy.
You know, but busy doesn't mean productive.
Right.
So I'm curious, how would you answer the question? Why do I feel busy? But it doesn't feel like what matters gets done.
I really do think you have to focus on the important, finding what is your priorities.
For me, I had to learn that the hard way because I do have those ADD moments where I like to have fun.
I like to do the things that bring me joy.
And sometimes... smart Ben comes in and says, actually put that to the side.
You got to take care of this because at the end of the day, this is why you get paid.
This is why you work in children's ministry.
So focus on that and then do the fun stuff.
I think somebody said it a couple of weeks ago is like, do the things you don't like to do first, get it out of the way so that you can have more time and more headspace to do the things that you love.
And that's when you just grow creatively, grow like with all these ideas and like, yeah.
So I think priority is huge for me.
Yeah.
I'm going to kind of piggyback off Ben there.
