In the latest live edition of The Just Mets Podcast, Andrew Claudio and Rich MacLeod recap a 3-3 week vs. the Padres and White Sox, the end of the Mets impossible playoff run dreams, and discuss…
Rich MacLeodHostUh, [laughs] the New York Mets, uh, lose two out of three this weekend to the Chicago White Sox after taking two out of three earlier in the week to the San Diego Padres, and, uh, inciting the most optimistic of Mets fans to, uh, re-recite and, and quote Yogi Berra from the late 19...
From the early 1970s that, "It ain't over until it's over." And maybe even, "You gotta believe," shout out to, uh, to Tug McGraw.
Like I, I, I was here for it if it actually happened, but I'm proud of how measured I stayed throughout all of this.
You didn't have a chance to talk about, uh, the p- the Padres series and, uh, it's been a week since you've been on these airwaves.
So first, how are you, sir? And yeah, the, the Mets unfortunately lost two out of three this weekend and probably put the nail in any coffin that people might have had that were interested in potentially some meaningful games in September.

So they've played significantly better even after what happened this weekend than they had for a majority of this season.

They're pretty much right around 500 since they fired Carlos Mendoza, which to me is acceptable with the way that this season started.

But you know, reality was that this was a team that was 19 games under 500 at one point.

They are missing their best player, who probably is not going to come back this season at this point.

But the latest news was that he's really hasn't made any progress in his, uh, rehab at this point.
