When I talk about denial, this was probably the cornerstone of denial in my life at this period of time.

So I knew the police officers and they were like, I'm sorry, there's no way around it.

and he posted my bail, and he had my uncle come and pick me up, who pastored the local church, which was humiliating to me.

It was like the movie when you see the gate moving, and on the other side, there's my uncle, Pastor Gerald Morris.

And when we pulled up into the driveway, he said, Michelle, how long are you going to do this? And I was like, what? He said, how long are you going to be lost like this without an awakening, without realizing that this is never going to go anywhere good? Well, that, of course, when you're in denial and you don't want accountability, you get angry when someone calls those things out.

And I remember looking at him thinking, I don't know who you think you are, but you're not that great.

And you're going to be shocked when you get to heaven and I'm there, which at that point in my life, he probably would have been shocked and he would have got to heaven and I would have been there.
